A Weekend In Dublin (4/7)

These pictures were taken during a long weekend break in Dublin during July 2002.

Here I am in the Gravity bar with my pint of Guinness at the end of the tour.

I took this picture of Abbey Presbyterian Church at the top of Parnell Square to catch the striking colours of the sky in the evening light.

On Saturday we headed out along the coast on the DART train to see some of the beautiful coastline. This is Mark at Bray which was very much a seaside town.

We walked along part of the coast from Bray to Greystones, the final two DART stations south of Dublin, and watched the trains go by. This is a view looking back towards Bray.

On our return train journey we stopped at Dalkey, which for 200 years was the only natural harbour on the east coast of Ireland. It grew very wealthy until the river Liffey in Dublin was dredged in the 16th century to make it navigable. Behind Mark is the tiny Dalkey Island.
