Istanbul (6/6)

At the end of May 2002 I had the chance of a short break in Istanbul. This was my first visit to Turkey.

At the upper exit of the Tunel, in the district of Galatasaray, we saw these stylish old trams which are still in operation.

Walking down the hill we arrived at our intended destination, the 13th century Galata Tower, built by the Genoese. This was the view from the balcony on the ninth floor.

This is the view of the Galata bridge which we walked over to get here. On the far side is the district of Eminonu.

Before descending we enjoyed a final drink in the restaurant on the eighth floor of the Galata Tower. Mark had a Turkish coffee

and I had an Efes beer.

Thank you for looking at my pictures of Istanbul, I hope you enjoyed them.
