The Lincolnshire Coast (8/8)

These pictures were taken whilst visiting the Lincolnshire coast during June 2004. Some pictures I've deliberately taken to match the angle of an early picture postcard.

The Convalescent Home, a large Victorian building where Seaholme Road meets the promenade, was a familiar landmark until it was demolished in the 1980's. During this visit we discovered it has been replaced by a complex of apartments.

Place the cursor on the picture to see how it appeared when the Convalescent Home was still standing.

A view of the beach side of the pullover close to the funfair. (Place cursor on picture)

This is a familiar view of the Highstreet leading up to the pullover, the road on the right is Victoria Road, a major through route. (Place cursor on picture)

My final picture is a view of the church near to the place where our caravan was sited. I thought it would be easy to match the postcard picture to take a similar photo but it soon became clear that the picture would just be a cluster of trees! So I went up closer to capture a view of the church entrance. (Place cursor on picture)

Thank you for looking at my pictures from Lincolnshire and Mablethorpe.
