A Week In New York (7/8)

These pictures were taken during a week staying in Maryland and New York in November 2003.

A view looking North east from the top of the Empire State Building.

A view in the same direction with me on the right and the Chrysler building on the left.

An artistic shot with the shadow of the Empire State Building cast across the buildings to the North. The apex of the shadow is falling on Bryant Park and 42nd Street, exactly where I'm standing in the next photo!

Here at the top of Bryant Park, to the left, built in 1974, is the W R Grace Building which really is that shape. Behind me again is the Chrysler Building.

Between Bryant Park and Times Square is this clock which counts the escalating US National Debt. While we were there in November 2003 it read 6.9 trillion US dollars, equivalent to a debt per family of $73 450. They will soon need an extra digit!

This is Ground Zero, former site of the World Trade Center Twin Towers, which we visited on Saturday morning, the day of our departure.
