Norway Cruise (10/14)

Here are some of my photographs taken during the cruise on the MS Switzerland (since then renamed the MS Ocean Monarch) from Amsterdam up the coast of Norway to the North Cape during August 2001.

After docking at Honingsvag a coach took us to the North Cape. On the way we stopped off at a Sami camp and souvenir shop where they showed us inside their tents.

At North Cape (which is almost the most northerly point of Europe) we saw these seven plaques. They were designed by seven children who spent seven days at North Cape.

This is a monument at North Cape. Its main significance appears to be something with which you can be photographed.

This snow bike caught my attention in the North Cape visitor centre. It looks like fun, but would be difficult to justify for our British winters.
