Trans-Siberian Railway Journey (4/5)
Below are some of my favourite photographs taken whilst on holiday in 1994 when I travelled from Moscow to Vladivostok on the Trans-Siberian Railway.
Krasnoyarsk railway station was in my opinion one of the more attractive stations, rather more modern looking than the blocky soviet style buildings.
This picture gives some perspective of the size of the locomotives. They are large by British standards!
Here I am outside Khabarovsk railway station. You can make out that the clock shows both local time and Moscow time because train timetables throughout the country show Moscow time. We stayed in Khabarovsk for two nights before continuing to Vladivostok.
Here I am, just arrived in Vladivostok, standing next to this relatively insignificant looking monument which explains that it is 9288km from Moscow. There are many small stations on the way which do not have a name, they are simply called their distance from Moscow in kilometres.
