A Week In France (7/8)

These pictures were taken when Mark and I drove around northern France during September 2008.

A mildly amusing street sign to pose against.

Our second visit in Falaise was to the Chateau. Here audio visual presentations describe in precise detail its history and the life of William the Conqueror who was born in this town in the year 1027.

A spiral stairway takes you to the top of the round tower for excellent views of the surrounding countryside. That walkway is a little disconcerting though because you can see through between the strips and it's a long way down. Place the cursor on the picture to see the walkway from below.

Here I am looking down the stairway to create this arty picture.

After leaving Falaise late in the afternoon we made our way back to Boubers-sur-Canche for the final night to be close to the ferry terminal, but first we drove over the Pont de Normandie pictured here which crosses the River Seine near Le Havre.
