The Lincolnshire Coast (7/8)

These pictures were taken whilst visiting the Lincolnshire coast during June 2004. Some pictures I've deliberately taken to match the angle of an early picture postcard.

The view to the left over Queens Park from the back of the beach chalet showing the tennis courts, adventure playground and part of the childrens paddling pool area. The boating lake can be just seen in the distance.

A view of the paddling pool at the lower level with our favourite beach chalet third from the left. It was a chilly day and no children were venturing into the pool. Move cursor onto picture to see an earlier view which is how I remember the pool.

A view of the north end of the boating lake in Queen's Park.

On the promenade at the corner of Queens park is this cafe. The undulating roof intrigued me when I was young. We were surprised to find that the row of beach chalets beyond the cafe had all been removed, replaced by the red, green and blue fencing.

In the 1970's My brother and I saw several films at the Lyric cinema on George Street, just off the high street, but it became a bingo hall long before we sold our caravan. (Place cursor on picture)
