Mammal Watching in Speyside (7/9)

Here are some of my photographs taken on a mammal and bird watching holiday in Scotland near Aviemore with Speyside Wildlife during August 2006.

On the Friday we got up early to go for a walk before breakfast and were rewarded by seeing this frog on the path.

Later in the day the guides took us to Abernethy Forest.

We spotted this clump of Chanterelle mushrooms. Mark picked up a couple that were already dislodged, ate them two days later and survived!

This common lizard fortunately missed being stepped on because the group had walked past before I noticed it in the middle of the path. Place the mouse cursor on the picture to see a close up of its head.

Towards the far end of the walk we were quite high up with an excellent view. This gave our guides the opportunity to point out a golden eagle in the distance.
