Bird Watching in Speyside (5/7)

Here are some of my photographs taken on a bird watching holiday in Scotland near Aviemore with Speyside Wildlife during February 2002.

One of the great advantages of being on a well organised tour is lunch and hot drinks are provided. Here we are enjoying a warming cup of coffee at Loch Garten.

Wednesday, our fourth day, was a longer journey across to the west side of Scotland around Ullapool. This is a view across to Gruinard Island. We stopped here in the morning to look for sea eagles but weren't successful. We did however stop here again on the return journey and were rewarded by an excellent display by two White Tailed Sea Eagles.

More stunning scenery as we made our way along the coast.

Mark had gone skiing at Aviemore so was missing out on all this scenery. I'd promised to get someone to take a photo of me here, though I look a bit insignificant among the rocks.

The group were still making an effort to look for birds, but there was plenty of time to enjoy the spectacular views.
